Bengals Fifth Round pick J.J. Dielman Claimed by Rams

He is the cousin of Kris Dielman, former left guard for the Chargers.

The Cincinnati Bengals have already lost a member of the 2017 NFL Draft class.

After waiving fifth round offensive lineman J.J. Dielman on Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams claimed him on Sunday. He will now join the 53-man roster in L.A.

The former Utah Utes captain began in college as a right tackle before switching to play center in his senior season. Five games into the year he went down with an untimely season-ending foot injury. That injury continued into this offseason, his first in the NFL. Dielman was unavailable for OTAs and minicamp but was cleared from his Lisfranc injury in time for training camp. That set him back a bit, which didn’t help toward his bid for a roster spot.

Here are some fun facts about Dielman:

Favorite food: Chicken Tenders

(Editor’s note: He hasn’t found a great spot for chicken tenders yet in Cincinnati; suggestions are welcome!)

Favorite movie: That’s a tough question. I’m a movie guy. I’ll say Star Wars.

Favorite TV show: Game of Thrones
